Comments: Kaboom -- Update 4

I know I'm a little slow on the uptake regarding this event, but glad to see that you are OK and in good spirits.

I've lived in London through the IRA when you had plan A, plan B and then plan C just to get to work; through random nail bomb attacks aimed at minority groups just because of the their reigion, race or sexuality and now what appears to be a Islamist attack aimed at us just because we won't compromise. This city is 2000 years old they will be a footnote in our history which is more than they deserve.

All very sad - and frustrating. I'm glad you're ok but aggravated that it happened and sorry for those not so lucky.

One of my scientists at work was frantically cancelling a trip to Oxford this afternoon - he was scheduled to leave Saturday. I asked him "why?" He was stunned that i asked...thought i was joking. Mostly he was worried about travel challenges due to the bombings today, with some concern for his safety if there are follow-up events.

I tried to explain: If you alter your behavior and the way you live your life, then they have accomplished what they set out to do - THAT is terrorism.

Would i go ahead with scheduled travel to London next week? Yes.

Would i let my daughter go? No.

Funny how we react. In the end, i supported his decision to cancel the trip, but was a little sadder for it. The people of the UK were able to continue with the day-to-day "living of their lives" throughout WWII and the horrible bombings they endured. C'mon, Geek-boy! Don't inflict pain on the British economy because a bunch of spineless, goat-screwing terrorists decided to randomly kill/injure people. Get over there and spend your money as planned (oh, but don't take my daughter along for the trip...)

Yours in Hypocrisy and Mixed Feelings,
Laura

it's good to see how the city is so quickly getting back to normal. the buses even seemed to be back running and full capacity in no time. that's the best way to show the terrorists they're not gonna get anywhere ..

glad you're continuing to be good, bob.
