You should enjoy Barcelona and Sitges. I went there every year 1999-2003. Barcelona is a very cool place with lots happening cuturally and brilliant for people-watching. It also has a beach: when you get off the metro at Barcelonetta stop, there's usually sand on the platform (sigh!). Lots of fish restaurants on the edge of the beach and some nicer ones in the Port Olimpic (built for the Games). Plus lots of Gaudi and other Modernista buildings. Quite a well-developed scene in the Eixemple (locals call it Geixemple "gayshemplay"). Great "butch" restaurant called "Castro" with muscle-daddy waiters.
Sitges has been "boyztown" since the 1920s and the locals are very laid back and gay-friendly. The town beaches get packed by lunchtime and many guys make friends with a "hamaca-boy" who will reserve your sun loungers for you for a small fee. After dark the beach is very cruisy then a cleaning team sweep up all the condoms and rake the sand in time for sunrise. There are bars for all types, you will probably find the "7" (El Siete) which is loud with show-tunes. Best restaurant is AlFresco but do book the day you arrive: it can be difficult to get into. You can walk everywhere though if you want to get to the naturist boyz beach it's best to take the town minibus to the big hotel at the end of the prom from where it's just a 30-minute schlepp along the cliffs.
Hope you have a great time !
I'll bet you'll get an excellent tan over the next ten days on the beach. I've never been to spain, but I'm sure the weather will be excellent, with the most abundant sunshine -- not unlike Oklahoma, for that matter.
In fact, I'm guessing you'll see nary a cloud in the sky. I say this because I have it on good authority that the rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain.
I've never been to Spain--or Oklahoma, for that matter. (Oh, wait, yes I have. See how memorable it was.) However, I've been to Georgia and California and anywhere I could run....
Have a good time hon, and thrill us with pictures on your return.

Geez. Come to Houston, where the only way to see your breath is standing in a walk-in freezer, and even that's iffy this time of year.
You are starting to sound "Bourgeois"! I am getting a bit worried. Bring back BOB!
I still love you madly though!
